Recirculated Aquaculture Systems (RAS)

Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) is a method of farming fish or other aquatic organisms by reusing water. The central aspect of this technology is using mechanical and biological filters. Any species grown in aquaculture can be grown in RAS, such as fish, shrimps, clams, etc.

Semi RAS, Moderate RAS, Intensive RAS

The intensity of the recirculation depends on the amount of treated and reused water. Intensive RAS farms installed in the closed insulated building can reduce the new water intake to 300 liters (and sometimes even less) per kilo of fish produced per year.
